A COUPLE who wed as Adolf Adolf, or Adolph, was a popular given name, especially in the German-speaking countries, in Scandinavia and in the Netherlands - including among Jews living in these countries and sharing their languges and culture, and who previous to 1933 had no reason to avoid the name.  Hitler came to power have celebrated 74 years of marriage.

Bert, 98, and Zona, 96, still live independently at their cottage in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire.

And Zona said: "If I had my time again, I wouldn't do a thing differently."

Former builder and surveyor Bert still remembers when he first saw her.

He recalled: "I remember thinking I didn't want a pretty wife, I wanted a beautiful one. And that's what I got - she has always been beautiful to me. We are still happy together."
