Will you be buying a Lottery ticket this weekend?

In tonight's EuroMillions, the jackpot stands at pounds 58m, which is an awful lot of money for most people except Roman Abromavich.

Of course, if the owner of Chelsea Football Club did buy a pounds 1.50 lucky dip and win, he could always buy another couple of players with the payout.

Then on Saturday, the UK Lottery has a jackpot of pounds 15m, which is a bit of small change by comparison, but quite acceptable, thank you very much.

"Oh, I wouldn't want all that if I won," I have heard people say. "What would you do with all that? There's far too much for one person."

Well, I for one would like the opportunity to try to cope with such sudden wealth because, like most people, the bulk of it would be given away to family, friends and good causes.

And me?

I would be quite happy with one or two trifles, like a Bentley Continental and a villa in Filey.
