For Wineries and Grape Growers it's Thermal Solar and Microbrews; More than Just Grapes and Wine at the Industry's Largest Trade Show.


SACRAMENTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 20, 1997-- WineTECH/GrapeTECH, the largest wine trade show in the U.S., is set for February 10-12 in Sacramento.

While hundreds of traditional wine industry professionals will be there, representatives from some unique aspects of the business will participate as well. Real Goods, one of the country's largest alternative energy systems providers, is one example. Other unique participants include Fritz Maytag of San Francisco's Anchor Brewing Company Anchor Brewing Company is an American alcoholic beverage producer, operating a microbrewery and distillery on Potrero Hill in San Francisco, California. The brewery was founded in 1896, and was purchased by its current owner, Frederick Louis Maytag III, in 1965, saving it  who will present a brewer's opinion of the wine industry, and Keynote speaker Dr. Curtis Ellison, one of the first physicians to suggest evidence of the wine and health link.

Energy, beer and medicine?!

"There's much more to the wine industry than grapes and wine," said Gina Amatruda, industry director of Ullo International, the company behind WineTECH/GrapeTECH. "We've scheduled speakers and focused upon topics that reflect that diversity."

Other seminars will cover topics including Pierce's Disease, Phylloxera phylloxera (fĭlŏk`sĭrə), small, sap-eating, greenish insect of the genus Phylloxera, closely related to the aphid. Phylloxeras feed on leaves and roots, and many species produce galls on deciduous trees. , rootstocks, yeast strains, oak, rotary tank fermentors and high-tech filtration.

Concurrent with the seminars, WineTECH/GrapeTECH attendees will be able to attend a trade show featuring everything from wine-related gifts to corks, barrels and mechanical harvesters.
