DALLAS -- Olympic athletes and fans from all over the world are converging on Athens for the start of the 2004 Summer Olympiad.  announces the launch of the company's first Greek Talking Phrasebook for Palm OS handheld computers.

Beiks LLC, the world leader in reference and language titles for mobile devices, has enabled anyone with a Palm OS PDA (Personal Digital Assistant) A handheld computer for managing contacts, appointments and tasks. It typically includes a name and address database, calendar, to-do list and note taker, which are the functions in a personal information manager (see PIM).  or smartphone (such as the popular Treo 600) to quickly look up commonly used words or phrases in their native language and hear the phrase verbally stated in Greek.

This particular talking phrasebook is the first to leverage Beiks' new dictionary engine, allowing users to install the phrasebook without requiring a localization Customizing software and documentation for a particular country. It includes the translation of menus and messages into the native spoken language as well as changes in the user interface to accommodate different alphabets and culture.
