For NPRA, it's a national thing.

The National Recreation and Park Association has successfully created a number of national partnerships that have resulted in new program resources for members in the areas of health, youth, and the environment. These resources have enhanced the public visibility for the park and recreation movement and have effectively positioned NRPA NRPA National Recreation and Park Association
NRPA Natural Resources Protective Association (Staten Island, NY)
NRPA Niagara Regional Police Association (Canada)
NRPA National Rifle and Pistol Association
as a quality organization for implementing national initiatives. This success has been a direct result of those who have utilized these program resources and enhanced their own degrees of service at the local level. NRPA and member agencies are reaching the public with information and activities that are enjoyable and beneficial.

Effective August 1, 1998, NRPA acknowledged the expanding opportunities through partnership resources by creating an office for National Programs. This commitment to pursue, cultivate, and deliver national program resources reflects the interest of the membership and that of potential partners to reach the public with specific programs that showcase the value of parks and recreation.

To this end, a national partnership protocol has been developed to define the work of the office. The preamble A clause at the beginning of a constitution or statute explaining the reasons for its enactment and the objectives it seeks to attain.

Preamble

The national partnership protocol endeavors to enhance the membership service package for NRPA members to more effectively communicate, facilitate, and advocate the benefits of parks and recreation to the public, while also seeking to sustain the resource needs of the organization, affiliates, and members. Recognizing the contribution of parks and recreation to the quality of life for all citizens, the protocol articulates the core values of health and wellness throughout the life span, environmental stewardship The integration and application of environmental values into the military mission in order to sustain readiness, improve quality of life, strengthen civil relations, and preserve valuable natural resources. , or youth development as essential to any initiative. The deadline for the 1999 grant applications is November 1, 1998.

Programs In Development

NRPA is currently reviewing the feasibility of two new national programs that support local programming. We would welcome hearing from you if you have an interest in seeing either national program developed for 1999. Let us know what you think:

Drive, Pitch and Putt Pitch and putt is an amateur sport, similar to golf, played and developed mainly in Ireland since the 1940s. The maximum length of hole for international competitions is defined up to 90 metres (with a total length of maximum 1,200 metres) and the players may only use an iron and a putter.

This skill-based competition will emphasize youth golf instruction, competition, and mentoring.

This youth and adult competition can be adapted for baseball and softball softball, variant of baseball played with a larger ball on a smaller field.
