Football World Cup 2002: Marco has never been missed!Byline: Philip McNulty MARCO Materazzi Marco Materazzi, Cavaliere Ufficiale OMRI,[2][3] (born August 19, 1973 in Lecce), is an Italian World Cup-winning footballer, who currently plays for Serie A club Internazionale, sometimes known as Inter Milan. was an Everton enigma - part quality defender and part big soft Jessie. One cynic cyn·ic n. 1. A person who believes all people are motivated by selfishness. 2. A person whose outlook is scornfully and often habitually negative. 3. (not my good self) delivered a line far too good to ignore when Marco MARCO Microelectronics Advanced Research Corporation MARCO Maritime Consulting MARCO Massachusetts Association of Community Rehabilitation Organizations, Inc. (formerly MARF) served up one of those madcap performances for Italy against Croatia. When Materazzi played for Everton you occasionally thought he could play for Italy - and when he plays for Italy you occasionally think he could play for Everton. Harsh words, especially when Everton now have reliable men like David Weir and Alan Stubbs to count on. It amazes me that a coach of the reputation of Giovanni Trapattoni could pick Materazzi, who looks no different to the wild and sometimes tearful loose cannon Walter Smith bought and sold four years ago. He must have developed to have joined Inter, but the Marco I saw playing for Italy certainly appeared to be the same Marco who played for Everton. And he showed exactly why he has never been missed. |
