Football World Cup 2002: Argentina were too `arrogant' says Houllier.

Byline: CHRIS McLOUGHLIN

GERARD HOULLIER has tipped Italy to win the World Cup.

And the Liverpool manager says he has no sympathy for the ``arrogant'' Argentinians after they crashed out of the competition at the group stage.

Houllier has been closely following events in the Far East and has been greatly impressed by the skill levels shown during a highly exciting competition.

``The level of skill has been fantastic, and as a coach there has been much to admire,'' he said.

``Italy are a team I would think has a chance of winning now - it is worth keeping an eye on them.

``I have no compassion for Argentina, because as I understand it, they were telling their media at home that all would be well even after they lost to England.

``They said they would beat Sweden and qualify but they were arrogant ar·ro·gant

``England are resilient See resiliency.  and have a resolve about their game,'' he said. ``As a team, I think they have got a great soul. I think they have a real chance of beating Denmark.''
