McLeish insisted he has not made a bid to sign the 38-year-old who has made a big impression at Ibrox after moving from Everton. McLeish said: "I'm pretty close to David. I know him very well. I met him at Tommy Burns' funeral the other week. "Iwas just talking to Noun 1. talking to - a lengthy rebuke; "a good lecture was my father's idea of discipline"; "the teacher gave him a talking to" lecture, speech rebuke, reprehension, reprimand, reproof, reproval - an act or expression of criticism and censure; "he had to him about his season, how well he had done and whether he was staying on at Rangers.
