 (above) has made a double French swoop by signing Monaco midfielder Florent Chaigneau and Rennes goalkeeper Sebastien Carole.

Carole, 22, who spent six months on loan at West Ham Coordinates:

 last year, has signed a two-year deal after agreeing a pounds 100,000 switch.

Chaigneau, 21, has agreed a year's loan which may become a permanent move.

McGhee said: "Sebastien has been with Monaco since he was 14 and he is a good player. Florent is an exciting prospect."
