STEPHEN Warnock Stephen Warnock (born December 12, 1981 in Ormskirk, Lancashire), is an English footballer who currently plays for Blackburn Rovers. His general position is left back, though he occasionally plays left midfield.  is back on Newcastle's transfer wish list - but the club could struggle to land him in the January window.

Kevin Keegan Joseph Kevin Keegan, OBE (born February 14, 1951 in Armthorpe, Doncaster, England)[1] is a former English football manager and is regarded as one of the all-time greatest British football players.  identified the Blackburn left-back as one of his summer targets but failed with a series of bids of up to pounds 5m.

Magpies scouts have watched Warnock (above) again, and will revive their interest to bolster Joe Kinnear's squad, with Jose Enrique likely to head back to Spain after struggling for form on Tyneside.

Kinnear wants to start planning for the future if the club is not sold, and he is given the nod to carry on as caretaker boss.

Director of football Dennis Wise is at the centre of a local media PR campaign in a bid to smooth over his continued involvement as the club's transfer chief, should owner Mike Ashley fail to sell.

Rovers boss Paul Ince, meanwhile, is next week giving trials to Egyptian duo Hosny Abd-Rabbo and Ahmed El-Muhammadi and defender Tore Reginiussen. His club Tromso rate him at pounds 1.5m.

The Norwegian will be joined by Brann Bergen's Gambian midfielder Tijan Jaiteh and Finnish rightback Jonas Portin, who plays for Jaro.
