Football Echo: YOUR SHOUT: `Let's not sink to their depths' IT'S ALL KICKING OFF Liverpool fans give their verdict on events at The New Den.AS SOMEONE who was also at Hillsborough, I would also like to say how disgusted I was about the Millwall chants. It really irritates me how the FA are down on our club like a ton of bricks if we do anything wrong, when generally we are one of the most sporting of clubs with a generally well-behaved set of fans. That said, I think our fans could have risen above it all, rather than feed the media stereotypes, but it will be absolutely disgusting if any further action is taken against us. Tony Ingham Tony Ingham (born Harrogate Yorkshire December 18 1925) was a professional footballer with QPR FC and holds the record for most appearances for the club - 519. He was signed from Leeds United in 1950 and made his debut against Doncaster Rovers in November 1950. , Broad Green LAST time we won the League Cup I was having a pint at half time when the balcony at the Millennium Stadium UEFA 5-star rated football stadia • • [ was stormed by about 500 Man United fans. The police took control, but it wasn't reported at all, probably because it was Mancs and not on TV. Anything involving LFC LFC Liverpool Football Club LFC Lake Forest College (Lake Forest, IL) LFC Level of Free Convection (meteorology) LFC Large Format Camera LFC Load Frequency Control will always be highlighted, and scenes of Reds fans fighting on the terraces, whatever the reason, does the club or the Hillsborough families no favours at all. Millwall are a horrible club with only one tradition. Let's not sink to their depths. Phil Brown Phil Brown may refer to:
I WAS at Hillsborough, but is the chanting of 1, 000 morons from Millwall really a licence for our lads to turn our name to mud and react like the stereotype that so many people expect? The chants were disgraceful but so were the actions of our `fans' for which there can be only a slight, if any, excuse. Who comes out looking worse, Millwall fans chanting or Liverpool fans throwing seats and which is better for them to show on TV? Peter B, Liverpool I WAS at the Millwall v Liverpool game and while I in no way con-EVERY once so often, a bunch of idiots rear their ugly heads during football games. On this occasion, some Millwall thugs decided to show the world their low-class mentality. It was a pity though that some Liverpool fans responded the way they did. If only we had kept our level-headedness, we would have come out shining in the face of such despicable behaviour. Racism, bigotry, ignorance and neanderthal behaviour have no place in modern football. Let us not condone condone v. 1) to forgive, support, and/or overlook moral or legal failures of another without protest, with the result that it appears that such breaches of moral or legal duties are acceptable. it in any way. Joel, Birkenhead done the actions of our supporters, I would hope that should the FA feel any action is necessary, they take into account the vile provocation by the Millwall fans. This, of course, isn't Millwall's first brush with crowd trouble. Isn't it about time Millwall were punished for failing to keep their supporters under control? Brian Stubbs, Wallasey I FOUND this apology on a web site and thought Reds fans might like to read it: ``I would just like to apologise to the Liverpool supporters for the disgraceful Hillsborough taunts. I've witnessed many low points in the club's recent history, from being a schoolboy at Luton in the quarter-finals, to the near end of the club after the riot after the Birmingham play-offs. Many thousands of other fans in the ground feel that tragedies like Hillsborough should not be used for baiting away support. There will always be an element of the crowd willing to use such taunts, and as the years pass I can only hope they become fewer and fewer. On behalf of the majority of Millwall fans I wish you all the very best in the next round. '' Gerry Beckett, Old Swan For the Blackfoot chief, see .
