Football Echo: Mellberg: We haven't played well yet!


ASTON VILLA defender Olof Mellberg Erik Olof Mellberg (IPA: ['uːˌlɔf 'mɛlˌbærj]) (born September 3, 1977 in Amnehärad, Gullspång) is a Swedish football player who currently plays club football for Aston Villa.  hopes the west midlands club can find a cure to its travel sickness at Goodison today.

Villa arrive on Merseyside still looking for a first away win of the season.

It is their unbeaten form at Villa Park which has propelled them into the top half of the table this season.

But the Swedish international believes David O'Leary's side has yet to produce a decent performance this season -- home or away.

``Overall we haven't played well -- not at home either, '' confesses Mellberg.

``We have got to raise our game but especially away from home.

I think we can do better and you have not seen the best of Villa so far. ``We have had a lot of injuries and that has affected our form a little bit as well.
