Football Echo: Little: We make own problems BRADY BRADY; Tranmere v Brentford Today, kick-off 3pm.

Byline: ROB BRADY

ASTONISHINGLY a·ston·ish
tr.v. as·ton·ished, as·ton·ish·ing, as·ton·ish·es
To fill with sudden wonder or amazement. See Synonyms at surprise.
, it is almost seven weeks since the Prenton Park Prenton Park is a multi-use stadium in Birkenhead, England. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of Tranmere Rovers F.C.. The stadium holds 16,789 and was built in 1912.http://aolsearch.aol.co.  faithful had a home win to celebrate. And Brian Little Brian Little can refer to:
  • William Brian Little, financier and founding partner of Forstmann Little & Company
  • Brian Little (footballer), English football (soccer) player
  • Bryan Little, Canadian ice hockey player
admits his side's home form is a cause of concern.

``Of course it is, because we have had such a good run at home since I've been here, '' the Rovers boss says. ``We have played well at home this season, though.

``Looking at the last three league results at home, against Wrexham we played well in the second half and we played Luton off the park in many respects. It was a stupid mistake in the last 10 seconds that lost us the game against Bradford.

``We have probably been our own worst enemy at home rather than the opposition causing us problems. ''

Today's match pits sixth placed Rovers against fifth placed Bees with both sides looking to reel in leaders Luton.

Little, who says he will revert to a 4-4-2 system, is under no illusions.

He says: ``Brentford signed good players in the summer, people with Premiership experience. Isaiah Rankin Isaiah Rankin (born 22 May 1978 in London) is an English professional footballer currently playing for Grimsby Town. Rankin is a pacy, powerful striker who can also play on the right wing if needed.  and Deon Burton Deon Burton (born 25 October 1976 in Reading, England) is a British-Jamaican football striker who currently plays for Sheffield Wednesday. Football career
Burton began his professional career with Portsmouth, with whom he made his debut in the 1993-94 league season,
are two strikers who have the potential to still play at a higher level. We all know John Salako John Akin Salako (born 11 February 1969 in Nigeria) is an English former professional football player who played for a variety of clubs and has also represented England at senior level. He was a part of the Crystal Palace team which reached the FA Cup Final in 1990.  was and still is a good player. They have all the ingredients to be successful this season. ''

The Bees' league position is all down to their home form -- last weekend's shock 3-0 defeat by Blackpool ended their 100 per cent record at Griffin Park Griffin Park is a football ground situated on Braemar Road in Brentford in the London Borough of Hounslow, West London. It has been the home ground of League Two side Brentford since it was built in 1904. .

However, on the road they have struggled for points, recording just one win.

But Little warned: ``Three or four weeks ago people were saying that we didn't travel well, now we have won three away games in a row. I wouldn't put it past Brentford being capable of winning this game. I expect a hard match. ''

The Rovers boss believes the best is yet to come from his side, while rivals such as Luton may have peaked.

``Luton and Brentford have put a run of results together and because of that find themselves in a really good position in the division, '' said Little. ``When we played Luton here the dividing line between winning and losing was shown to be very thin. There were enough opportunities for us to have beaten them.

``It's no surprise that other teams are catching Luton up. They had a degree of fortune as well as determination in that early spell.

While some people would still say they are a good tip for promotion, a lot of other teams have shown this division is evenly matched.

``We are yet to go on a streak of games where we win four or five in a row.

I believe we are capable of doing that and it would put us in a really solid position in the table.

``Two weeks ago we lost at home, but we have bounced back ever so well with two great wins away. That shows the determination of the players. There has been that little extra something both on the training ground and in the matches. Hopefully that will stay with us. ''

Rovers are without Theodore Whitmore (hamstring) and Paul Linwood (knee). Brentford have problems in defence.

Manager Martin Allen is without Eddie Hutchinson, Scott Fitzgerald and Michael Dobson. Stuart Talbot (groin) and Andy Frampton (knee) may be hurried back.

Central midfielder Chris Hargreaves is suspended, so Allen is likely to turn to Irish under-21 international Jay Tabb. He is expected to partner Jamaican Jamie Lawrence, a trialist who has been handed a short term contract until the New Year.

Prenton PerilDeon Burton. Many believe the Jamaican striker is easily capable of playing at a higher level than League One.

Possessing a neat first touch, the former Derby County man has established a dangerous partnership with ex-Bradford forward Isaiah Rankin.
