A TIGHT match was expected when early Division One paces etters Melling Vics took on title challengers The Warby at Orrel Mount.

But a first-half blitz saw Melling race into a seven-goal lead en route to a 9-0 victory.

Four-goal Gary Jensen led the way, assisted by Keith McKeown (2), Dean Early, Kevin Kavanagh and Craig Birkett.

Everest (John Yates, Steve Hughes) finally broke their win duck, defeating RNA Kirkby 2-0. Blue Anchor beat Alt Park by the same margin.

NAC went second with a 3-0 win over Kestrels, Tony Grey (2) and James Dewar the scorers.

Division Two leaders Millys edged out Great Mogul 4-3.

Colin Phillips (2), Anthony Price and Brad Hughes were on the mark as Millys built up a 4-0 lead, but Mogul replied through James Fogg (2) and Steve May.
