A COUPLE of years ago, the football correspondent of a tabloid newspaper asked Ferguson a reasonable question.

Even Ferguson thought it was reasonable. "That's a good question," Ferguson said, "but it would take a whole interview to answer it and that's an interview you're never going to f***ing get."

A couple of days after Wayne Rooney was sent off in a Champions League tie against Villarreal, another reporter tried to get Ferguson to talk about the incident. "Any more thoughts on Wednesday night, Alex?" the reporter said.

Ferguson glared at him. "Aye," he said, "I've got plenty of thoughts but I won't be f***ing sharing them with you."
