Football: speaking with THEENEMY.

LEWES fan Kieran Ridley ridley: see sea turtle.  gives us the opposition viewpoint.

What are your expectations this season?

To survive, not in the league, just as a club! It's been a difficult time. It isn't the best time to need new financial input. If we can ride out the rest of this season without administration and re-build next season we'll have a much stronger club.

Who is your star player?

Danny Cullip Danny Cullip (born September 17 1976 in Bracknell) is a football player currently playing for Queens Park Rangers FC. Cullip is a strong, commanding centre back and standing at 6' 1" and weighing 13 stone is effective in the air and the tackle as well as being a notable influence , by an absolute mile. If his injury record wasn't so bad, then he'd be in the Football League. I still rate Michael Standing

highly but in a team where defending is pretty regular, Cullip has proved how good he is.

How are Lewes coping with the financial strain?

Not well. We've so far stayed away from administration and although some fans think it's the best solution, the man at the top has said we can manage to stay away from it completely.

"Talks ongoing" seems to be the regular phrase at the moment, but he has said they are trying to re-structure the board of directors in order to expand the numbers putting money in and to better the way the club is run.

How do you see today's game going?

We did well at Oxford so hopefully that's put a bit of confidence in us, but we've also lost Shaun Wilkinson to suspension. If we can get off to a strong start, then we'll have a chance.

We also need you guys to under perform, but there's been a few times this season we've forced teams to play worse by shutting down fast, it just depends what Lewes comes out.

Who do you think will win the league?

I can't see Burton slipping up so I'd have to go for them, but if teams below them keep winning they'll add to the pressure and it'll be interesting to see how they cope with it.

Which Wrexham player, if any, would you sign?

Marc Williams Marc Williams, born July 27th, 1988, is a young striker currently playing in League Two with Wrexham FC. Williams made his under-21 debut against Northern Ireland in 2006. In his second game for the squad Williams came off the bench and scored twice in a 3-2 defeat to Israel. .
