Football: Ulster duo both earn Sig-nificant victories; GAA: Cork, Sligo and northern sides into cup last four.Byline: By COILIN DUFFY IT IT will be Ulster versus Munster and Connacht in the Ulster Bank Sigerson Cup semifinals in Belfast next Friday after Queen's University, UUJ UUJ University of Ulster at Jordanstown (University of Ulster) , Cork IT and Sligo IT recorded victories in the last eight yesterday. At Belfield, Louth star Shane Lennon was in fine form for the hosts but UCD UCD University College Dublin UCD User-Centered Design UCD University of California at Davis UCD University of Colorado at Denver (Denver, CO) UCD University of Colorado at Denver UCD Unicode Character Database were unable to account for Queen's. The Belfast outfit were 1-12 to 2-5 winners at the finish of a very competitive hour's football. Both teams were evenly matched in the opening 20 minutes but after the sides were tied at 0-3 each, QUB began to pull away. Scores from Gavin Donaghy and Charlie Vernon before the break ensured a two-point interval lead. Competition hosts Queen's were strong on the restart with Armagh's Vernon in fine form. Although UCD came back into the game with a 41st minute goal from Lennon, QUB also found the net through Ciaran O'Reilly as the game entered the final quarter. The Belfast side remained on top, despite a late Brian Mullin goal for the Dublin team. Queen's will face Cork IT in the semi-finals after the Munster college had a strong 2-15 to 0-10 away win over NUI Maynooth. NUI Galway were no match for University of Ulster The University of Ulster (UU; Irish: Ollscoil Uladh[2] [3]) is a multi-centre university located in Northern Ireland and is the largest single university on the island of Ireland, discounting the federal Jordanstown in their quarterfinal at Mullahoran. Jordanstown led by 2-4 to 0- 3 early in the second half thanks to goals from Antrim's Paddy Cunningham and Raymond Mulgrew of Tyrone. Although NUIG NUIG National University of Ireland, Galway did stage a rally, Cunningham and Ruairi Murray were among those who helped UUJ pull away to record a 2-11 to 0-9 win. The Poly will meet Sligo IT in the semi-finals after the men from the west enjoyed a 1-10 to 0-9 win over Garda College at Temple more. A goal from Colm Doyle which proved decisive. In the Trench Cup it took extra-time before both St Pat's Drumcondra and University of Ulster Coleraine booked semifinal spots, as did IT Carlow.
