SPIREITES chief Roy McFarland Roy Leslie McFarland (b. 5 April 1948, Liverpool, England) is an English football manager and previously a player for Tranmere Rovers, Derby County and Bradford City. He represented England at full international level.  insists it is too soon for his side to be considered promotion contenders despite this emphatic opening win.

"We've been wellprepared but there are still 45 games to go," said McFarland. "Let's not get carried away."

Derek Niven Derek Niven (born December 12 1983 in Falkirk) is a professional footballer, currently playing for Chesterfield. He previously played for Stenhousemuir, Raith Rovers and Bolton Wanderers. , Colin Larkin Colin Larkin (born 27th April 1982 in Dundalk, County Louth) is an Irish professional football player, who plays primarily as a striker for Northampton Town FC.

The striker, who is also capable of playing out wide, joined Mansfield for a £125,000 fee from Wolverhampton
and Caleb Folan all got on the scoresheet as the visitors went on the rampage at Dean Court.

Niven struck a halfvolley from 20 yards just after the break but the decisive moment was Cherries' keeper Gareth Stewart's awful mistake.

Stewart rushed out to clear but totally missed the ball to gift Larkin an open goal to make it 2-0 on 62 minutes and Folan rounded the keeper to complete the rout.

And the hosts' miserable day was compounded by a sixth-minute injury to captain Marcus B rowning.
