finds it "weird" that team-mate Stephen McManus Stephen "Mick" McManus (born 10 September 1982), is a professional footballer who plays in defence and is captain of Celtic F.C. McManus grew up following Partick Thistle and cites his early hero as Chic Charnley, an enigmatic Thistle player of the time who longed to play for  has not been involved with the Scotland senior squad yet.

McManus celebrated his two-year contract with the winner against Hibernian at Easter Road to extend his side's lead over Hearts at the top of the Premier League to 15 points.

Having become a permanent first-team fixture under Gordon Strachan, the 23-year-old is now keen to knock on Walter Smith's door.

Wilson believes international honours are just around the corner although he cannot understand why that has not happened already.

"It's a weird one," said the former Dundee United full-back. "He is playing in a team, week in and week out, who are top of the league.

"Yet he has not been recognised. I am sure that if he keeps playing the way he is he will get called up sooner rather than later."
