Football: Lukasz to put his pal Boruc in the shade; Exclusive.Byline: By Craig Swan LUKASZ ZALUSKA Łukasz Załuska () born June 16, 1982 in Wysokie Mazowieckie, is a Polish goalkeeper who currently plays for Dundee United. On May 30, 2007 he signed a two year deal transferring him from Korona Kielce to the Scottish club.[1] References 1. admits he's wanted to outdo his best pal Best Pal (born February 12, 1988 in Ramona, California - died November 24, 1998 in Ramona, California) was a champion racehorse, who to this day holds the record for purses of any California-bred racehorse, earning his owners, the Golden Eagle Farm, US$5. Artur Boruc Artur Boruc (IPA pronunciation: ['ɑrtur 'bɔruts]; born February 20, 1980 in Siedlce) is a Polish football player. He is a goalkeeper for Celtic and also represents the Poland national football team. ever since the pair shared a room for two years at Legia Warsaw. Zaluska will have a medical at Tannadice today after agreeing terms with Arabs boss Craig Levein and he's desperate to get the green light so he can lock horns with Boruc. The pair are so close that the Celtic No.1 and the Korona Kielce keeper went out for a meal with their wives when Boruc returned to Poland following Saturday's Scottish Cup Final. Zaluska said: "Artur is my best friend. At Legia Warsaw we would always share the hotel room before games. "Our wives are friends and I know it is just 60 miles between Dundee and Glasgow so we'll be able to stay close. "We all went for dinner after Artur came back after the Final and it is good I will have someone I know nearby. "I certainly hope Artur stays with Celtic. I know he wants to and I would like that so I can beat him. "I want to be just like Artur. For me he is the best Polish keeper but I hope to be better than him one day. "Signing for Dundee United will be good for me and should help me achieve these ambitions." Zaluska hopes United can provide his career with a springboard after a disappointing end to life in Poland. Having started at Stomil Olsztyn he made a high-profile move to Legia and was touted as a major talent. But when that move didn't work out he ended up at Jagiellonia before moving on to Korono where he fell out with boss Ryszard Wieczorek. Zaluska said: "I was playing all of the time for the team and the club was happy with me. "After a break in the season I went back and the coach seemed to have a problem with me. "The directors wanted me to sign a contract but I didn't and the coach said if I didn't want to do I obviously didn't want to play for the club and I could go. "I thought it was unfair but that was me left sat on the sidelines On the sidelines An investor who decides not to invest due to market uncertainty. on the sidelines Of or relating to investors who, having assessed the market, have decided to avoid committing their funds. . "I'll be happy when that part of my career is finished and Dundee United seems an excellent opportunity. "I feel I will get the opportunity to play in Dundee and they seem to be a really good club. "It would be good for me to win with them and that would put everyone in a better position. "I know all about the SPL thanks to Artur and I feel playing in Scotland can improve my game. "I will have my medical test on Wednesday and after that I will sign my contract." The other thing Zaluska hopes will improve at Tannadice, should he end up as Derek Stillie's replacement, is the Scottish weather. Having travelled to Scotland to set up the deal initially, the keeper wasn't overly impressed by the conditions he encountered. He said: "When I came to Glasgow it rained. On the second day it rained and it rained on the third day. That was new for me." CAPTION(S): AMBITIOUS: Zaluska |
