Stephen William Henry Lovell (b. December 6, 1980) is an English football striker, who currently plays for Aberdeen.

 started the move by surging forward from his own half then releasing Lovell with a through ball.

The ex-Dundee striker collected the ball on 55 minutes then coolly beat the Cosmos keeper with a powerful low drive from 16 yards which went in off the right-hand post.

Lovell, playing his first match in South Africa after injuring a knee against Elgin City, made the difference in attack with his pace, physical presence and clinical finish.

The 25-year-old said: "We all know the battle for places against Hibs next week is on now.

"There was pressure on me to do something special to impress the manager and getting the match-winner is a start."
