Football: Little happy with chances created.

MANAGER Brian Little insisted he wasn't worried by Tranmere's failure to convert a host of chances in last night's 2-0 win at Heswall in a preseason friendly.

Rovers would not have been flattered if they had reached double figures but had to settle for goals by Paul Robinson and Mike Jackson against the local amateur team.

Little said: ``It would have been nice if we had scored more goals. We certainly had lots of chances, so many that I lost count.

``But this was all about fitness and the most pleasing thing was that everyone worked hard.

``You can't get a workout like that on the train-ing ground. '' Little paid tribute to Heswall goalkeeper Paul Roberts. The 25-year-old shipping clerk frustrated Tranmere with a long string of saves.

Little said: ``The goalkeeper did tremendously well. He pulled off a lot of good saves and a couple that were top class. I'm pleased for him. It's good to come to places like this that are a part of a community. It was an enjoyable night.

Little is hopeful that new signing Calvin Zola is over the worst of a hamstring problem. The 19-year-old from the Republic of Congo is due to resume training today and could even be in contention for a run out at Vauxhall Motors on Saturday.
