Football: Let's honour Bob.

ALEX FERGUSON could feel the touch of the sword on his shoulder almost before he left the Nou Camp on the night in 1999 when Manchester United returned Europe's most prized trophy to Old Trafford Old Trafford commonly refers to two sporting arenas:
  • Old Trafford (football ground), home of Manchester United F.C.
  • Old Trafford (cricket ground), home of Lancashire County Cricket Club.

The knighthood knighthood: see chivalry; courtly love; knight.  bestowed on Fergie with almost indecent haste irked Liverpool fans -not out of animosity towards Manchester United,but out of a burning sense of injustice.

And it is an injustice that still rankles today. Why was Bob Paisley not knighted for winning the European Cup in 1977,1978and 1981, without evenment ioning all Liverpool's other honours during his time in charge?

But Liverpool fans can play a part in delivering one honour on Paisley -namely top coach of all time.

Sports Coach UK, an organisation dedicated to improving coaching, is asking the nation to name their topcoach. The accompanying blurb blurb
