Football: Lamps: No more slips; ENGLAND AND LIVERPOOL STAR ADMITS HE WANTS HIS OLD POSITION BACK.Byline: By JOHN CROSS FRANK LAMPARD Chelsea midfielder Lampard has seen England drop to third in Group E behind Russia and Croatia after last month's dismal defeat in Zagreb. And Lampard admits they must get their act together or face the desperate blow of failing to qualify for the European Championships. Lampard said: "I'm confident we will qualify but when those Euro games come around, we have to be on top form. "I know we've had the hiccup hiccup or hiccough, involuntary spasmodic contraction of the diaphragm followed by a sharp intake of air, which is abruptly stopped by a sudden, involuntary closing of the glottis (opening between the vocal cords); the consequent blocking of air lately which means all of a sudden we are not in top position but we can't dwell on dwell on or upon Verb to think, speak, or write at length about (something) Verb 1. dwell on - delay linger over that. We have to only worry about us. "Let's make no bones about it. We are in better form than we were a month ago. As a team and as individuals we were all firing. It felt good against Holland and we have to take that forward." |
