Football: LUCAS LIGHTS UNITED'S WAY; Western Division Hinckley United ... 2 Atherstone United ... 0.

GOALS from Andy Lucas and substitute Paul Hunter

Paul Alan Hunter (14 October 1978 – 9 October 2006) was an English professional snooker player.
saw Hinckley move to within a point of leaders Bilston when they won a fiercely-contested derby with Atherstone.

Hinckley started strongly and were twice denied in the opening 15 minutes by veteran keeper Dale Belford Dale Belford (born 11 June 1967 in Tamworth, England) currently plays for Conference North side Hinckley United, where he plays as Goalkeeper for the club.

Belford started his professional career as an apprentice for Aston Villa back in July 1985, but after failing to

tested home keeper Wayne Starkey but it was his counterpart Belford who got down brilliantly to block Karl Brennan's diving header.

Lee Middleton came close for the visitors early in the second period with a stinging free kick but Hinckley grabbed the lead in the 63rd minute with a well-crafted goal.

before looking over a superb far-post cross for Lucas who volleyed home.

Atherstone's Stuart Corns got his marching orders shortly after for an off-the-ball incident with Richard Lavery and on an ever-deteriorating pitch Hunter rubber-stamped the win when he broke free of a tired visitors' defence to round Belford and slot home the second goal.

A late Paul Jones effort was well saved by Starkey but Hinckley held on to record another home win.

Mangotsfield United ... 4

Sutton Coldfield Sutton Coldfield, city (1991 pop. 102,572), Birmingham metropolitan district, central England. The city is a residential suburb of Birmingham with a metal products industry and a large television transmitting station.  ... 0

MANGOTSFIELD were always comfortably in charge once they had been gifted a goal as early as the seventh minute of what became a one-sided affair.

A long clearance upfield from goalkeeper Paul Thompson was missed by Sutton defender Chris Keogh and Rob Clarridge volleyed powerfully in.

Christie McKenzie forced Thompson into making a good diving save when Sutton did hit back and then there were faint appeals for a penalty when the same player was upended in the penalty area soon afterwards.

Mangotsfield extended their lead on the brink of half-time when Clarridge turned provider as he centred for Darren Edwards Darren Edwards (born 25th March 1974 in Maesteg, Wales) is a rugby union footballer for Leeds Tykes . His usual position is at scrum-half.  to net from close range.

Traffic was largely one way after the break as Mangotsfield carved out the best chances and they sealed the points with two more goals.

Chris Churchill made it 3-0 with a deft lob over the head of Andy Higgs and substitute Mel O'Sullivan blasted in the fourth after two previous efforts had been blocked.

Solihull Borough ... 1

Weston-super-Mare ... 1

A LATE equaliser from Easton Chiverton denied Solihull all three points in a hard-fought encounter at Damson dam·son

In Solihull's first game at home for 11 weeks, they came under pressure early on when Jody Bevan's close-range header was well saved by Boro' keeper Mark Payne Mark William Payne played college football at Whittier College from 2003 to 2005. He played quarterback and punter. In a 2003 football game versus Colorado College, he broke the Whittier College school record for the longest punt by punting the ball 80 yards.  on his home debut.

Solihull suffered a blow on 27 minutes, losing centre-half Andy Penny, injured. Brett Healy had Solihull's best effort of the half on 31 minutes with a well-hit drive that flew just wide.

Healy again had a shot blocked as Solihull dominated the closing stages of the first half.

Solihull's leading scorer Chris Smith Chris Smith is the name of:

Smith then nearly laid on a second for Healy but even at full stretch the little midfielder just failed to get a touch.

Solihull then lost yet another player injured when substitute Ignus Martin had to be replaced and, without a regular defender, Andy Penny and Gary Knight Gary Knight, born on Oakham, England in 1964. began working as a photographer in the late 1980s in South East Asia and Indochina from his home in Bangkok, Thailand where he lived with photographers Philip Blenkinsop, Emmanuel Dunand and Thierry Falise.  came under late pressure. On 86 minutes, despite Healy heading one shot off the line, the ball fell to Chiverton who scored for Weston.

    Redditch United ... 1

    Blakenall ... 2

BLAKENALL took advantage of two defensive blunders to snatch victory at promotion-chasing Redditch.

The home side had started the better and Scott Colcombe and Paul Danks went close to breaking the deadlock.

But that honour went to Blakenall's former Redditch striker Mat Coppin on 19 minutes who tapped into an empty net following keeper Dave Adey's comical missed clearance.

The home side levelled the scores on 28 minutes, Nicky Cross heading home a Danks centre, and only a splendid double save from visiting keeper Mat Lowe kept United out. The second half was a disappointing affair with midfield battles seeing the booking count mount up.

But Blakenall snatched victory 15 minutes from time when home skipper Adam Nicholls cleared the ball straight to Les Palmer and he tucked the ball home via the upright.

Redditch almost salvaged the point seconds later but Lowe again came to his side's rescue with a splendid save to deny Danks.

    Shepshed Dynamo ... 2

GLOUCESTER made hard work of beating a Dynamo side who were always trying to catch a young but lively City team.

The Gloucester Tigers went ahead in 22 minutes when a Steve Jenkin corner was converted from ten yards by Matt Parnell, making his debut. Then City became sloppy and Dynamo grabbed a worthy equaliser through Liam Walsh Laim Walsh (born 1963) is former Irish sportsperson. On 71 mintues City went further ahead when Paul Chenoweth's through ball was converted by Carl Bayliss. Then a sloppy clearance was rammed straight back by Dynamo's Danny McDermott.

But Gloucester emphasised their mastery when Danny Hunt's lob was blasted in by Billy Davis.

    Bromsgrove Rovers ... 1

    Gresley Rovers ... 1

The second half was an even affair with chances at a premium. The home team's best chance of the second period fell to Philip Rowe but his header went over the crossbar.

Bromsgrove substitute Dean Wright saw a swerving shot go wide of the post before former Bolton player McGinley came on as substitute.

Gresley captain Richard Wardle was brought down in the penalty area by Steve Ulfig. McGinley confidently strode to the penalty spot but, much to the delight of the home supporters, put his penalty wide.
