TITLE favourites Inverurie romped to three points but had to put the champagne on ice as nearest challengers Keith also won.

Locos would have clinched the championship had Keith lost to Fraserburgh but the Maroons won 2-1 and still have a game in hand.

If Keith don't beat Fort William Fort William: see Thunder Bay, Ont., Canada.  on Wednesday, Inverurie will be crowned champions.

In front of an expectant crowd the first chance fell to Mike McDonald Mike McDonald (born June 22, 1958 in North Hollywood, California) is a former professional American football player who played long snapper for nine seasons in the NFL.  in nine minutes but his shot was saved by Darren Strong.

The Jags came close at the other end but Stephen Bruce glanced a free header wide with the home defence looking on.

With a quarter of an hour gone the home support was given something to celebrate when Neil McLean Neil McLean may refer to:

 was upended in the box by Kevin Small and Scott Buchan stepped up to fire home the penalty.

Two minutes later a long ball found Kenny Coull who ran clear of the visiting defence and slid the ball home to make it 2-0.

On the hour Inverurie wrapped up the points when Coull grabbed his second from distance. In the closing stages home keeper Paul Jarvie was sent off for hauling down sub Matthew Edmond in the box.

Bruce netted the spot-kick to make it 3-1.

Locos then ran down the clock but had to postpone celebrations after Keith beat Fraserburgh.
