Football: LEGENDS ON BALL FOR IFA.

THE IFA is planning to expand its Legends Evening project and invite the likes of Martin O'Neill and Norman Whiteside Norman Whiteside (born May 7, 1965) is a former Northern Irish football player who represented his country in two World Cups. He played for Manchester United (273 appearances, 66 goals) and Everton, before his career was ended by injury at the age of 26.  to future events.

The second Legends

Evening, exclusive to members of the official IFA supporters scheme, will feature Alan McDonald Alan McDonald is the name of:
  • Alan McDonald (architect)
  • Alan McDonald (Australian rules footballer), a football player for Richmond
  • Alan McDonald (footballer), a football (soccer) player from Northern Ireland
 and Jimmy Nicholl

James "Jimmy" Michael Nicholl (born February 28, 1956 in Hamilton, Ontario) is a Canadian-born Northern Irish former footballer and, later, a manager.
 this Tuesday night at the Hilton Hotel in Templepatrick.

It follows quickly on the heels of the first Legends Evening in August when Mal Donaghy and Gerry Armstrong were the guests of honour.

Geoff Wilson, Head of Marketing at the IFA, hopes the initiative will grow in size in the coming months.

"We want to reach a stage where we hold three or four evenings per season and invite the likes of Martin O'Neill, Pat Jennings and Norman Whiteside to meet the fans," he said.

Interested parties can attend next week's event at the Hilton by registering to the IFA supporters scheme.
