Football: LAW: KIDS ARE BURDENED.

Byline: MICHAEL BAILLIE

DENIS Law Denis Law (born February 24 1940, in Aberdeen, Scotland) is a retired Scottish football player, who enjoyed a long and successful career as a striker from the 1950s to the 1970s.

Law's career as a football player began at Second Division Huddersfield Town in 1956.
fears Darren Fletcher Darren Barr Fletcher (born 1 February 1984 in Dalkeith, Midlothian) is a Scottish football player currently playing for Premier League club Manchester United. Club career  could be weighed down by the expectations of Scotland - as there aren't enough experienced players to share the burden.

Fletcher has become a mainstay in Berti Vogts' side with the German forced to put his faith in youth.

When Law made his debut in 1959 against Wales, his transition into international football was made easier due to the number of senior professionals in the side.

Unfortunately Scotland's current generation don't have that luxury. Law said: "I saw James McFadden's goal against Holland but it must be difficult for him as we had world class players in my era.

"Fletcher is the only one. He is good but he's still young. His time is ahead of him but I do believe that if you are good enough you are old enough. If they have to build a team around him then so be it but he needs quality to help him.

"The difference between me and Fletcher was that I came into a team with Bobby Collins Robert "Bobby" Young Collins (born February 16, 1931 in Govanhill, Scotland) was a footballer best known for his successful spells at Celtic F.C., Everton and Leeds United. , Graham Leggat and Bobby Evans - they had been at the World Cup in 1958.

"Fletcher has to make it up for himself as he goes along and that's a burden on him as well as making him captain of his country as he has been recently at such a young age.

"When you are playing with older players they pass on their experience to you."

Law was speaking at the launch of the Scottish Football Hall of Fame, which he hopes two of his old bosses will be inducted into.

He added: "I was fortunate enough to play under Sir Matt Busby and Bill Shankly - hopefully they will both be recognised. Many great players didn't achieve 50 caps. So this is a great way of honouring them."
