BIRMINGHAM CITY have made a fourth attempt to sign Coventry City striker Gary McSheffrey Gary McSheffrey, (born August 13, 1982 in Coventry, England), is an English football player, currently playing for Birmingham City in the English Premiership. McSheffrey started his career for his home town club Coventry City, where he won England U-21s honours. .

The Sky Blues have already rejected a pounds 3mplus offer, but this latest move will further test their resolve to hold on to their homebred star.

"There is always a value on every player, so you should never say never. We have been a selling club ever since we were relegated but keeping Gary would be a fantastic signal.

"What sort of signal would it be if we did sell him? We have sold season-tickets and shirts on the back of Gary.

"It would be easy to take the money and really improve the squad, competing with fees for new players.

" But we couldn't replace him - I wouldn't know where to start. So he's not going anywhere unless there is a fee acceptable to the board."
