Football: Blues leave Wenger flat; COMMUNITY SHIELD Arsenal 1 Chelsea 2.

Byline: By JOHN CROSS

CHELSEAcaptain John Terry popped the first champagne of the season at the Millennium Stadium UEFA 5-star rated football stadia
    [
yesterday, but Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger was the one blowing his top. Wenger slammed Chelsea's time-wasting and long-ball tactics in the Community Shield. Wenger said: "Chelsea were dangerous with the long ball - they do it very well. They were very direct.

"We tried to play our usual game. We play a technical game. I'm not here to judge Chelsea but they play their game and we play ours.

"But it's a fact that Didier Drogba Didier Yves Drogba Tébily (born March 11, 1978 in Abidjan, the Ivory Coast) is a footballer from the Ivory Coast who currently plays for Chelsea FC in the English Premier League. Drogba is the current African Footballer of the Year.  likes the high balls and that gave us a hard time. They played more directly than we did."

Drogba's double defeated Arsenal, but Wenger was also angry with Chelsea substitute Hernan Crespo for time-wasting in injury time after Cesc Fabregas had given the Gunners hope.

Bitter Wenger, re-igniting his war of words with Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho, said: "That was pointless in a charity game. I said nothing but I do not see the point in doing that in a charity game.

"It shows that we were difficult to beat on the pitch because they did that."

But Wenger was refusing to panic after their defeat and insisted they were unlucky to lose.

"I'm still smiling," said Wenger. "This was a good preparation for the season and I think it was an even game.

"Don't be worried about us. I'm not. Look at me, it's not as if they won the title by 220 points last season.

"Why am I not worried? Did you not see the game today? Why should I worry? You can worry for the Chelsea supporters."

Wenger refused to blame Swiss defender Philippe Senderos Philippe Sylvain Senderos (born February 14, 1985 in Geneva) is a Swiss football player of Serbian and Spanish descent who currently plays for Arsenal of the English Premier League as a central defender.  even though his mistakes cost Arsenal dearly on both Drogba's goals.

"I cannot blame him. It would be a bit unfair. I do not concern myself too much with individual errors," said Wenger.

"He did not have his best performance but he learns from every game and will not be scared to play. He will get better game by game and that is important."

Wenger admitted Arsenal have missed Patrick Vieira Patrick Donalé Vieira (born June 23, 1976 in Dakar, Senegal)[1] is a French football midfielder who currently plays for Internazionale Milano. He came to prominence during his time at Arsenal between 1996 and 2005, where he won three FA Premier League titles and four FA  - now with Juventus - in their pre-season build-up and also confirmed they may be interested in Newcastle's unsettled Jermaine Jenas Jermaine Anthony Jenas (born February 18 1983 in Nottingham) is an English football midfielder currently playing for Tottenham Hotspur, in the English Premiership. , but only at the right price.

Newcastle boss Graeme Souness Graeme James Souness (IPA: ['suːnəs]) (born 6 May, 1953 in Edinburgh) is a Scottish former professional football player and manager.  wants pounds 15million for Jenas but Wenger made it clear they will not be held to ransom.

Wenger said: "I miss all of the big players that I have had in my career. Patrick is one of them but life goes on. Fabregas played and was outstanding for 90 minutes.

"I like Jermaine Jenas. But two or three weeks ago what I heard from Graeme Souness was not encouraging - pounds 20million is crazy money.

"But do not worry about us. We've won four Community Shields and nobody saw them as trophies. I'm not worried about that, so when we lose we have to consider it a friendly as well."

Chelsea boss Mourinho was upset with Arsenal skipper Thierry Henry, accusing him of elbowing Damien Duff.

Mourinho insisted he did not see a first half bust-up between Drogba and Arsenal full-back Lauren, adding: "It was too far away for me.

"But just in front of me was Henry and Duff. That was ten yards from me and I saw that."
