Football: Berger ready to sign again.

PATRIK BERGER Patrik Berger (born 10 November, 1973 in Prague) is a Czech football player. He is currently a midfielder for English Premiership team Aston Villa, having signed from Portsmouth on a free transfer on 1 June 2005. His uncle is the Czech footballer Jan Berger.  says he is deciding whether or not to sign a new contract with Liverpool.

It is bordered by Slovakia on the east, Austria on the south, Germany on the west, and Poland on the north.  international has been linked with a summer move away from Anfield after another injury-hit season.

 arriving from Lille on July 1 in a pounds 3.7 million move, Berger appeared to be edging towards the Anfield exit door.

But now the 28-year-old, who is currently Liverpool's longest serving player, looks set to extend his six-year stay on Merseyside.

``I know there has been a lot of speculation in both England and the Czech Republic about me leaving Liverpool,'' he told Czech newspaper Pravo. ``But I have been offered an extension on my contract.

``I'm still studying it, but I think we can reach agreement on it and I can sign a new contract before the start of the Premiership.''
