Football: Benitez is asked to draw up plan.

LIVERPOOL'S new co-owners have asked Rafa Benitez to provide a short-term business plan to take Liverpool Football Club to the brink of world domination.

"We spent a wonderful hour with Rafa," said George Gillett.

"What we talked about was really less specific about players and purchase opportunities coming up in the transfer are a this summer, as much a sit wastoun derstand his dreams and what he'd like to do.

"We encouraged him to spend time with Rick Parry developing a plan, and then sharing that with us in the next few weeks.

"He's a very, very special man. A heck of a coac hand a greattactician. We have huge regard and he is one of the great assets of the club. We will listen to him carefully.

Gillett also had words of praise for Steven Gerrardand Jamie Carragher, who he met on Monday night. "It was a lot of fun," he said." They are special men and obviously two of the greatest athletes in the world. "We started out and they said 'what's your impression?'

"And we said we were at West Ham the other night where we learned every single form of the use of the word that begins with 'F' that we had ever heard. It was very creative. "We mentioned that to the two of them and they laughed and said 'if you could only have heard us on the pitch!' "We loved the two of them. They have such character and heart and they are great leaders."
