Football: Becks in move for City ace.

INSTITUTE boss Liam Beckett finally got his man yesterday when centre-back Paddy McLaughlin Mc·Laugh·lin   , John Born 1942.

British jazz guitarist best known for his virtuosic playing and for his affinity for flamenco and Eastern music.

"To be honest, over the past few weeks, I had started to prepare myself for leaving Derry City," said McLaughlin.

"I wasn't playing much last season and they just signed another centre-half, so that made my mind up."

He added: "I enjoyed my time at Institute last season on loan and I always told them that, if I ever left Derry, they would be my first option."

Beckett is delighted to add the centre-back to his squad.

He said: "Paddy is a quality player and he's an integral part of my plans."

McLaughlin is certainly going to be thrown into the deep end as he is expected to make his debut at Linfield on Saturday.

"I'm going to get blooded in a nice easy game," he joked.
