campaign this time around to start paying back the debt he owes his gaffer. He said: "It feels great to be back playing again because it's a lonely time when you're out for that length of time.

"I've got a lot of family and friends who helped me through it and there were a lot of low points.

"But I can't speak highly enough of the gaffer and this club for what they've done for me.

"I haven't even played a real game for them yet but they stuck by me. It's important to me that I repay the manager for the faith he's shown in me so I want to play a big part for Falkirk in the SPL this season.

"For a long time I couldn't see any light at the end of the tunnel but I'm not going to be silly and think I can get straight back into it.

"I'm not far away but I need more games.

"I've played against Holland for the Republic of Ireland in the past and it was fantastic to play against a side of Ajax's calibre calibre

"Ability-wise I believe I can get my international place back but I'm just taking one step at a time."
