Football: BURNLEY GET A KICK FROM ADE'S BOOTS; Luton 2 Burnley 3.

ADE AKINBIYI Adeola (Ade) Peter Oluwatoyin Akinbiyi (born October 10, 1974 in Hackney, London) is an England born Nigerian footballer. He plays for Burnley in the Championship. Playing career
Early career
Akinbiyi has had a much-travelled career with many different clubs.
fired 10-man Burnley to the brink of the play-off places with a stunning hat-trick - even though he had left his shooting boots at home.

The former Leicester man tore his regular pair while practising on Friday and made a desperate plea for a club official to bring his spare pair of silver Nikes down from Lancashire.

Luckily for the Championship's leading scorer and his team-mates they arrived at Kenilworth Road Coordinates:

in the nick of time and Akinbiyi used them to devastating effect to take his season's tally to 12.

He said: "Those boots served me well. I suppose you could say they are my lucky ones. But they arrived only just in time."

Akinbiyi had put the Clarets two up inside half an hour with a clinical double - the second a real stunner stunner

 - but their hopes were hit when keeper Brian Jensen was red-carded for handling outside his box.

Steven Howard pulled a goal back almost immediately but Akinbiyi won and converted a second-half penalty - the first of his career - to restore their two-goal lead.

Warren Feeney pulled another back for Mike Newell's side, but they still slumped to their third straight loss.
