The Birmingham boss is ready to pile on the agony for the struggling Taylor and end Aston Villa's 20-year reign as the Midlands No.1 club.

The Blues have completed a league double over their fierce rivals and stand just a point behind Villa in their first season back in the top flight since 1986. Bruce claims he is laying the foundations for him and his club to become the kings of the Midlands.

"Rivalry is very good for the area but I'm not talking about the kind of rivalry that spilled over into bad blood in the two games against Villa."

Bruce's two derby victories have already elevated him to hero status with the blue half of the city.
