SHREWS boss Gary Peters slammed ref Graham Salisbury after Simon Brown's controversial equaliser was allowed to stand.

The ex-West Brom striker looked offside when he scored two minutes before the break.

And Peters stormed: "I would have liked to start the season with three points but we got caught by two bad refereeing decisions.

"Their second goal was offside and the referee knows it was as we've got it on the computer and he's seen it.

"But there was another bad decision in the second half where their keeper handballed it outside the area and the referee didn't give us anything."

Shrewsbury fell behind as new boy Matt Hamshaw converted a low cross.

Stuart Drummond levelled and Dave Edwards nodded in Neil Sorvel's right-wing centre. But Brown converted a cross.
