Football: BOSS LIFT FOR DYER.Byline: SIMON Simon, in the Bible. 1 One of the Maccabees. 2 or Simon Peter: see Peter, Saint. 3 See Simon, Saint. 4 Kinsman of Jesus. 5 Leper of Bethany in whose house a woman anointed Jesus' feet. BIRD KIERON Dyer Kieron Courtney Dyer (born 29 December 1978 in Ipswich, England) is an English footballer, currently playing for West Ham United. Club career Ipswich Town has been defended by England boss Sven Goran Eriksson as he faces trial by the St James' Park crowd tonight. The England midfielder is running out of backers on Tyneside and is facing being jeered by his own fans when he gets on as a second-half substitute. Dyer is under fire after a dispute with club boss Sir Bobby Robson Sir Robert William Robson CBE (born 18 February 1933, in Sacriston, County Durham, England), commonly known as Bobby Robson (IPA: /ˈbɒbi ˈrɒbsən/ because he refused a right-wing role and wants to play centre midfield. Ironically, Eriksson is set to play Dyer on the left - and has warned him he doesn't expect complaints. The England boss said: "Dyer will have his chance with England again, probably on the left. I am not afraid of the reaction to him from fans. "If I ask him to play there I assume he would follow instructions." |
