Football: BLUES IN LINK TO IRISH WINGER.

EVERTON were last night linked with a move for Republic of Ireland star Kevin Kilbane Kevin Daniel Kilbane (born February 1, 1977 in Preston, England) is an Irish footballer who plays a left-sided midfielder for Wigan Athletic in the FA Premier League. He plays international football for the Republic of Ireland through Irish parentage. .

Sunderland claimed that the Goodison Park club were one of four with an interest in the winger.

Kilbane is in the Far East with Mick McCarthy's squad preparing for their latest World Cup warm-up game with local J-League side Sanfreece Hiroshima.

A Sunderland statement read: ``Sunderland can confirm that Aston Villa, Everton, Southampton and West Brom have all made enquiries.''

Kilbane moved to Wearside from West Brom in a pounds 2.5million deal in 1999, but has failed to settle in the north east where his club form has not matched his international displays, which has led to speculation that he is set to leave the Stadium of Light in the summer.

Kilbane could attract a price tag in the pounds 3.5-pounds 4m region, although a good World Cup could heighten interest and his value.

Meanwhile, Danish international Thomas Gravesen has insisted there has been no bust-up with Everton boss David Moyes David William Moyes (b. April 25, 1963 in Glasgow, Scotland) is a football manager and former player. He is currently the manager of Everton F.C.. The midfielder was not included for the Blues' final game at Arsenal, but Gravesen says that was part of an end-of-season agreement with the manager.

``I had a clear agreement with David Moyes that I would not play in that game if we were not in any danger of being relegated,'' said Gravesen, who had left for Denmark before the match.

Meanwhile, Everton look set to switch their attention to Leicester keeper Ian Walker Ian Michael Walker (born October 31, 1971 in Watford) is an English footballer currently playing for Bolton Wanderers. Biography
