JEAN-ALAIN Boumsong Jean-Alain Boumsong (born December 14, 1979, in Douala, Cameroon) is a professional football defender who currently plays for Juventus and the French national team. Biography

 is set to be sidelined for several weeks with a fractured skull - but it won't affect his move to Rangers.

But Boumsong's summer transfer to Rangers has not been put in jeopardy by the sickening injury.

Boumsong's agent Willie Mackay said: "Jean-Alain has been injured. He was concussed during the game and is in hospital but there are no problems. With regard to his move to Rangers, that will still go ahead as planned. It is already signed and sealed."

Boumsong, who has signed a pre-contract agreement with Alex McLeish's side, said: "I took a huge blow in the face.

"I'm suffering from a fracture of my left eye socket. I had to spend the night in hospital in Bastia, and I had a scan and an X-ray. They confirmed the break, and I have a small cranial cranial /cra·ni·al/ (-al)
