Football: BARNES IS A BELTER; F.A. VASE.TWO Curtis Barnes goals and a battling performance saw nine-man Causeway keep their Vase hopes alive in a 2-2 thriller at Pickering that went to extra-time. An early penalty saw Causeway fall behind with Benn Rhodes lotting the ball past stand-in stopper Mark Whitehouse. Barnes put United back on level terms on the half-hour and Matty Southwick's corner kick just before the interval saw Barnes grab the lead with a header. Causeway's fortunes then nosedived as Simon Dixon was redcarded for dissent following a flareup and team-mate Ian Kirkham later followed suit. Joe Connor equalised for Pickering with 20 minutes to go. Two late goals sank nine-man Willenhall as Morpeth's Graham McGhie gave the Northern League side a 3-2 victory.
