Football: BACK ON THE BALL; Division Two.


THE derby between AIRDRIE UNITED and HAMILTON today illustrates a dramatic turnaround in the fortunes of both clubs.

Both are bidding for promotion and Sandy Stewart Alexander "Sandy" Stewart (born 14 October 1965 in Bellshill) is a former Scottish footballer and football manager. He was manager of Scottish First Division club Airdrie United between 2002 and 2006. He was sacked on 13 November 2006. , manager of leaders Airdrie, said: "What a boost for Lanarkshire football."

Airdrie United rose from the ashes of Airdrieonians while Hamilton were bought over.

 is doubtful, Andy Arbuckle is out injured and Brian Carrigan and Todd Lumsden are suspended.

Boss Alan Maitland Alan Maitland (1921-February 11, 1999) was a Canadian radio broadcaster and author. He was a longtime host for CBC Radio, started off as an announcer in 1947 and was later cohost of As It Happens from 1974 to 1993.  said: "We must do something and hope Dumbarton can do us a favour."

MORTON could go up with a win at DUMBARTON and a Hamilton loss. Warren Hawke is out and Scott Bannerman and Paul Gaughan are doubtful.

Dumbarton are without suspended Neil Collins while both Craig McEwan and Andy Rodgers miss out.

ARBROATH are without banned keeper Mark Peat and injured Ross Graham and Paul Brown for the visit to FORFAR.

Forfar will miss Alan Rattray and Paul Lunan.

EAST FIFE'S Paddy Kelly and Les Byle are out and Ian McDonald and Kevin Bain are doubts as they visit BERWICK.

Berwick have Graham Connell and Gordon Connolly doubtful.

Relegated STENHOUSEMUIR play ALLOA, who have Gary McGlynn back in goal.
