Football: Attacking policy paying dividends for the Dons; MK DONS v COLCHESTER LEAGUE ONE SKY SPORTS 1 7.45pm.

Byline: By Mark Langdon

ROBERTO DI MATTEO Roberto Di Matteo (born May 29, 1970 in Schaffhausen, Switzerland) is a Swiss-Italian former professional footballer. A midfielder, his career consisted of spells at Schaffhausen (1988-91), Zürich (1991-92), Aarau (1992-93), Lazio (1993-96), and Chelsea (1996-2002).  is in his first managerial job, but he has proved that a lack of experience is no barrier to success and MK Dons will be looking to further cement their position in the League One automatic promotion places at home to Colchester tonight.

The Dons are second, five points superior to third-placed Millwall, and there is every chance of backto-back promotions following their League Two title success last season under Paul Ince Paul Emerson Carlyle Ince (born 21 October 1967 in Ilford, London) is a football player who won numerous honours with Manchester United and became the first black player to captain the England team. .

Some had suggested Milton Keynes Milton Keynes (mĭl`tən kēnz`), town (1991 pop. 36,886) and borough, S central England. Milton Keynes was designated one of the new towns in 1967 to alleviate overpopulation in London. It is the seat of the Open Univ.  would struggle at this higher level when Ince jumped ship for Blackburn, yet they have defied ante-post title odds of 16-1 to become the closest challengers to leaders Leicester.

And right now they are the hottest team in League One after collecting 30 points from their last 33 available thanks to an impressive run of ten victories in 11.

No team has scored more than their tally of 48, which means they average more than two goals per game, and their attacking intent is shown by the fact that Peter Leven has notched seven goals from a midfield position.

Di Matteo must take a large chunk of the credit for the way he has improved MK Dons, and his Chelsea connections have also enabled the Italian to bring some decent young talent to the club.

The 19-year-old will be looking to build on that against a Colchester side desperate to add power to their defence in the January transfer window.

The Essex club won both of their fixtures over the festive period but despite six victories on the road this season, Colchester are yet to keep a clean sheet away from home.
