Football: All is not Well as McGhee slams troops.

MARK McGHEE Mark Edward McGhee (born 25 May 1957 in Glasgow, Scotland) is a former professional footballer and current manager of Scottish club Motherwell. Football

has admitted his side need to start learning how not to lose instead of playing to win every week.

Motherwell have taken just two points from their last 15 as their iron grip on third spot has slipped completely.

And while manager McGhee still believes a UEFA UEFA Union of European Football Associations

Cup slot is within their grasp he reckons it will take a fundamental shift in attitude to get it.

The Fir Park Fir Park is a football stadium situated in Motherwell, Scotland. The stadium plays host to the home matches of Scottish Premier League club Motherwell F.C.. In 2007-08, Gretna F.C.  men still have two games in hand on Dundee United - but with them coming against the Old Firm they're not a shoo-in for points.

McGhee (right) said: "We learned a lot about ourselves here - we need to start thinking about not losing these games instead of just playing to win them.

"We're just not determined enough not to concede goals. There's no urgency, not enough sense of danger like when their sub came on and scored.

"It comes from my philosophy and I've never majored on the defensive side.

"We've always talked more about attacking play. But we lost 1-0 at Hibs and conceded two in the last 15 minutes here so questions have to be asked."

McGhee was also incredulous at his side's five yellow cards from Dougie McDonald - especially as the ref didn't book a single home player.

Mark said: "It was like United had played their joker - they weren't allowed to be booked. It was ludicrous. I'm not saying their guys deserved it - just that we didn't either."

McGhee also admitted he'd given midfielder Steven McGarry Steven McGarry (b. 29 September 1979, Paisley, Scotland) is a Scottish professional footballer currently playing for Scottish Premier League club Motherwell.

McGarry, a midfielder who can also play as a striker, previously played for St Mirren and Ross County.

The boss shrugged: "It was done to make us as attacking as possible after we went behind.

"Steven was embarrassed but I had a go at him because he has to accept I make every decision for the good of the team."
