Football: Mjallby's so sad over his op.
The Swedish defender knew he faced a spell on the sidelines when he had an exploratory operation on his right knee.
But he didn't realise the cartilage and ligament damage would be bad enough to keep him out until Christmas, forcing him to miss Celtic's Euro double header with FK Suduva and at least one Old Firm match.
Mjallby said yesterday: "I am sad and very frustrated.
"I thought that a week off after our game in Basel might have helped me to get fit again but the news shows that the injury is actually worse than I feared.
"It is very hard to stay away from the team in the middle of the season. I am a player who suffers very much when I'm not allowed to play, especially with the league and UEFA Cup games to come. But I've had knee trouble for a long time and something had to be done."
