Football: Corinthian - Futsal in the pipeline for county FA; FUTSAL LEAGUE.

THE Liverpool County FA is currently looking for teams who are interested in joining a newly established Futsal League.

Futsal is a version of 5-a-side that is very popular in Europe and South America, and is strongly supported by the Football Association.

The new league will hopefully provide an opportunity for teams to progress and represent the area at national finals or even England at international level.

The Liverpool FA believe this league will be ideal for clubs wishing to develop their players' skills, technique and fitness in a competitive environment.

It is intended to have the league up and running in the first week of November at Heatwaves Leisure Centre, Stock-bridge Village on Wednesdays between 8pm and 10pm.

A similar female competition at the same venue will be established if there is enough interest.

Registration forms of further details can be obtained from Tony Smith/Simon Wright (male teams) or Anna Farrell (female teams) at Liverpool County Football Association, Walton Hall Park, Liverpool L4 9XP. Or e-mail An-thony.; Si-mon. or Anna. FarrellY!

Referees interested in attending a futsal course should contact Dave Horlick on0151 522 2566 or e-mail David. Details alsoonthe LCFA's website (
