Football career
Burton began his professional career with Portsmouth, with whom he made his debut in the 1993-94 league season,
after Lee Williamson's strike five minutes into injury-time handed the Millmoor outfit a survival lifeline.

The Millers are now just one point from safety. But caretaker-boss Knill couldn't hide his fury at Jamaica hitman Burton. "I didn't find out until 1pm that Deon wasn't coming in due to illness.
