Food chain poster. The Project Science What better way to illustrate the concept of the food chain than with a poster showing what eats what? Kids will delight in this project, but it is also a great way to teach an important biology lesson. One Instructor teacher sent us an example poster showing a bug inside a bird inside an eagle. What chains will your students come up with? How To Make It 1. Ask each student to choose a carnivore carnivore /car·ni·vore/ (kahr´ni-vor) any animal that eats primarily flesh, particularly a mammal of the order Carnivora (cats, dogs, bears, etc.).carniv´orous and draw its outline on an Elmer's Foam Board. 2. Then, have them draw an outline of a second animal (the first animal's prey) within the first outline, and so on. 3. Tear appropriately colored construction paper into 1" and 2" squares. 4. Apply Elmer's School Glue Stick, then paste the torn paper squares over the glue until it is completely covered. 5. Repeat steps 3-4 for each animal (or plant), with contrasting colored paper.
