Fonterra Brands was the big winner at this year's awards ceremony held by the New Zealand Ice Cream Manufacturers' Association. Fonterra's Kapiti Fine Foods brand took home the supreme award for its lemon meringue pie ice cream. The annual awards saw 185 entries compete across nine categories including standard vanilla, standard chocolate, premium ice cream and kids' choice. Kapiti's lemon meringue pie ice cream took the premium category award before going on to win the overall best product award. Fonterra's Tip Top brand picked up the award for the best standard chocolate ice cream. The company picked up a total of 25 silver and 7 gold awards.
