Following a burglar's trail.


Shortly after 3 a.m. on April 27, David Moore David Moore is a common English name and may refer to:
  • David Moore (botanist) (1808-1879), English botanist
  • David Moore (Colonel), American Civil War soldier
  • David Moore (footballer), English footballer and team manager
 arrived at his home in Shreveport, Louisiana, to find a burglar BURGLAR. One who commits a burglary. (q. v.)  rummaging through his belongings. It appeared to Moore that the thief, later identified as Ronald Reeder, was primarily interested in electronic equipment and guns.

Grabbing a handgun kept in the arm of a chair, the homeowner fired a single shot that struck Reeder in the leg. Reeder fled, but a police officer later followed the trail of his blood to the back yard of a nearby house and arrested the suspect. Reeder, who was taken to LSU LSU Louisiana State University

Later that day, Shreveport television station KTBS reported that the police "said they would not file charges against the homeowner, concluding the shooting was justified."
